YOUR HOME AWAY FROM HOME
Our synagogue, the religious center of our community brings life and happiness to members of all ages. Shabbat and weekday prayers, social events and communal activities create unity and build everlasting relationships. The synagogue, authentic to our Syrian customs, serves as representation in Jerusalem for all Syrian communities abroad.
Our Bet Din services Sephardic communities worldwide. New York, Miami, Los Angeles, London, Buenos Aires, Milan, Panama City as well as cities throughout Israel, are only some of the locations in which monetary disputes have been resolved. Bet Din Aram Soba has earned its fine reputation with over twenty years of experience resolving nearly 3000 monetary disputes. Dedicated to Torah justice, the Bet Din submits decisions after thorough research and a clear understanding of each case.
In the Bet Midrash, our community’s most elite group of scholars are training to be future judges. We’ve carefully selected each student and have developed a unique style of learning blending Talmudic study with halachic ruling. This distinctive approach enables us to maintain an in-depth analytical understanding of the material without sacrificing knowledge of the practical aspects relevant to everyday life. Our students regularly use their knowledge in practical application, as they participate in the decisions delivered by our organizations Bet Din. The learning program includes monthly testing on the material studied, and yearly testing by the Chief Rabbinate of Israel.
Our staff of teachers, train our children in the authentic heritage of Aram Soba (Aleppo, Syria), with daily classes. The children of our congregation are proficient in the lyrics and tunes of all 24 books of Tanach. Tehillim, Shir Hashirim, Megilot, Eyob, and the haftaroth are all within their capabilities from a very young age. Our father and son minyan brings the youth into the focus of the synagogue, by encouraging them to read from the Sefer Torah on Shabbat and Holidays. The young girls of our community enjoy classes and fun activities. We provide our girls with Torah classes, sewing lessons, ballet, and other wholesome activities.
